14 More Days

Two more weeks! TWO MORE WEEKS and I'll be boarding a plane for Dallas, then London, then Entebbe!

I am getting excited, but there is still so much to do here before going there. And I'm not just talking about packing or gathering supplies, although those also need to be done. I'm talking deadlines for work, arrangements for Fat Cat, arrangements for the apartment, etc. This is my first adventure in which I have to actually do this kind of stuff, and I think the first time I'll be able to relax in several weeks will be on the 20 hour plane ride!

Anywho, I got the official "you're fully funded" email from ECM last week. I can finally heave a sigh of relief that part is over. But I never worried about it much because I knew God was going to supply and that he wants me to GO.

I've also completed my lesson plans for the most part. I am planning to teach two lessons each of: the scientific method, the water cycle, plant growth, solar energy, wind energy, the food chain, and hand washing. Through this process, I've realized that, although I have two degrees in biological sciences, I pretty much know nothing, so the lessons are pretty basic. They are hands-on though and each lesson will allow the students to see how science is applied, not just learn it.

While teaching is going to be fun, I am most looking forward to experiencing God and seeing His people on the other side of the world worship Him. This was something I wasn't able to accomplish in Liberia given the circumstances of the trip, so bring it on, God. I'm ready. [Maybe that was too bold?? ...Never]
